When Carlie Heather and her partner, James started to think about buying their first home, their approach to getting a home loan didn’t go much beyond chatting to their childhood bank for a mortgage.
“I had thought that it was way better to approach my bank directly because I was an existing customer with them for over 20 years they would give me better service, and deals than if I started again with a brand new bank,” Carlie said. “Unfortunately I was shocked to find this was not the case.”
Carlie and James, were planning to get married in the next few years and live in the inner suburbs of Brisbane, but they had a major challenge to overcome: there was so much information available on the internet, and what they had been told by their friends that they had become overwhelmed and confused exactly where to start.

And once the couple had found a home, their mortgage broker Nathan was able to take care of things that the couple admitted they “wouldn’t even know how to deal with,” adds Carlie and after settlement has kept in touch with the couple with regular contact with newsletters and annual mortgage reviews to make sure they are always getting the best deal and service.
